Nature Trails
Immerse yourself in a journey through centuries of history and natural beauty starting from our Castle. Following the ancient path of the “fonte vecchia” (old spring), you will be led into the heart of the historic center of Paggese, a charming medieval-Renaissance nucleus with the evocative church of S. Lorenzo. Every August, the square becomes the stage for an exciting historical re-enactment during the “Notte di S. Lorenzo” (Night of San Lorenzo).
For nature lovers, a path that ascends towards Valledacqua reveals the Farfa Abbey dating back to 970 AD, which has returned to monastic life and is open to the public with exhibitions and cultural insights during the “Settimane Bibliche” (Biblical Weeks).
Heading towards Rome along the SS4 Salaria, you will reach Acquasanta Terme, where the rich saline-bromine-iodine waters, already known to the ancient Romans, flow into the Tronto River.
Just 8 km away you will find Arquata with its majestic 14th-15th century fortress, linked to the legendary presence of Queen Joanna I of Naples. A unique experience that blends history and nature in a suggestive setting.
